Content I’ve written or participated in that’s not primarily on this site.
This is the final installment in a series of articles concerning the intersection of blockchain and WordPress. (You can check out the first article here, the second article here and the third article here.)
In Part I of Blockchain Tech Trends (available here), I looked at how two blockchain-specific trends—digital wallets and DeFi— will impact the WordPress community. Here, I’ll review two more top industry trends which will also likely disrupt WordPress: Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) and Web3 Tech.
In this article I’ll take a closer look at the impact of two blockchain-specific tech trends likely to impact the WordPress community.
I’ve worked with WordPress for 14 years (I’m now CMO at Angry Creative) at this point so I inevitably look at blockchain and blockchain-inspired projects from that perspective: that of the open web. In this 3-part series I’ll cover some of the broad trends in cryptocurrency and blockchain technologies while considering their potential impacts on WordPress—and those who use it.
This article is the second in a series on WordPress and blockchain. To get up to speed, you might want to read the first one, WordPress + Blockchain = Disruption and Opportunity. To start off, I wanted to look at a few projects that either use crypto/blockchain technology directly or demonstrate blockchain-inspired projects. With these big tech trends, it’s easy to zoom out and let imagination run wild. My intention with this post is to stay very grounded in the here and now. These are (nearly) all projects that you can use today.
I had a lot of fun chatting with Christie on this podcast – she’s a great host!
In each episode, Christie Chirinos talks with leaders in and outside technology — including legal and government professionals, business leaders across industries like fashion, sustainability, social justice, and construction, and academia — about the open-source software powering their work. This podcast seeks to document and rigorously examine the phenomenon we all know: technology is changing fast, and we need radical collaboration to make sure we benefit current and future generations.

A piece for Velocitize…
Brexit will surely present both challenges and opportunities across the whole of both EU and UK economies. As CEO of a 50-person digital agency, it’s something that’s on my risk register as both high-likelihood and high-impact. So what follows is a rundown of my thoughts and worries.
